Dorothy Otieno Emerges as the Main Challenger to Rongo MP Paul Abour in 2027

In the Luo community, there is a cliché phrase that states, “ Alot miseyo ema tero Kuon. ” This is loosely translated as: “ It is the vegetable that has been despised that finishes the ugali (kuon)”. This best describes Hon. Dorothy Otieno when she first showed interest in becoming Rongo MP in 2027. People discredited her candidature. However, with her slogan “Ombokore,” or “Ombokore Movement,” she has shown she can challenge her opponents in a largely masculine political battlefield. Currently, the race for the Rongo Member of Parliament seat in the 2027 General Election is beginning to attract increasing political attention, with Director for Social Programmes at State House, Hon. Dorothy Atieno Otieno, emerging as one of the notable challengers to incumbent MP Paul Abuor.
