  In recent social media campaigns, mental health has been one of the key topics. Everyone is struggling with something, and many solutions have been offered, including community support, mindfulness practices, and connecting with nature.  For instance, Take a Beat by Spotify is a campaign that promotes music as self-care and therapy, using curated playlists to encourage daily mindful practices. Brave Together partners with charities like Ditch the Label, focusing on alleviating anxiety and depression in young people caused by social media pressure. Organizations such as the WHO come up with a special day termed “the World Day for Mental Health Awareness.” This year, this will take place on 10th October, 2026. Public Outcry in Kangeso as Residents Challenge Food Distribution by Hon. Dorothy Otieno

  Hon. Dorothy Otieno was distributing relief food at Kangeso Sub-location Chief's Camp On Friday, 17th April 2026, Hon. Dorothy Otieno, State House Social Programs Director, and one of the Rongo 2027 Member of Parliament aspirants, decided to surprise widows and women in Kangeso Sub-location, in East Kamagambo Ward, with the distribution of relief food, which comprised a 2 kg tin of rice and beans. The event took place at Kangeso Chief’s Camp, started at 8:00 am, and was chaired by the aspirant herself and the area assistant chief. Some residents perceived the move as appropriate, because there are elderly and widows in the community who deserve such food. Unfortunately, they cannot afford it. Sardonically, a 2 kg tin of rice and beans can feed them for how long? Furthermore, a section of the residents who boarded the bandwagon of Hon.
