How to Write a Remarkable Conclusion of a Chemistry Lab report



Some students get confused when writing their conclusion part of the chemistry lab report. They do not know what to include in a conclusion part of a lab report. Usually, conclusion paragraphs consist of aims, main findings, explanations of results, and sometimes suggestions for further study. The mentioned items should be written in paragraph forms. The experiment aims at determining water of hydration and chemical formula of unknown copper chloride. The chemical formula and water of hydration of unknown copper chloride were determined by using concepts of mole ratio, conservation law of mass and proportional law. Based on these concepts, it was established that the chemical formula and water of hydration an unknown copper chloride was CuCl2. 2H2O. 

Water molecules coordinated with ionic compound (CuCl2) in ratio1:2. This ionic compound (CuCl2) requires two molecules of water to form copper chloride hydrate. When copper chloride hydrate is heated, it releases to water of hydration in the form of water vapor, leaving behind anhydrous copper chloride. Besides, when anhydrous copper chloride is dissolved in water, it coordinates with water molecules forming copper chloride hydrate (a blue solution).

When the aluminum wire is placed in a blue solution of copper, it turns colorless. This happens because aluminum is reactive than copper. As a result of this, aluminum atom displaces copper ions from chloride ions, thus forming aluminum chloride, which is a colorless solution. The present experiment could be improved by using analytical grade reagents and avoiding using contaminated apparatus. Further studies should concentrate on investigating the effects of replacing aluminum with less reactive elements on a blue solution of copper. 

Bottom line:
This experiment does not require testing of the hypothesis. For that reason, it is not incorporated in this sample. Furthermore, different chemistry lab reports have distinctive instructions.
