How to file ‘KRA NIL return’ within two minutes in Kenya

Since the introduction of ITAX by KRA many people, especially the unemployed and students with KRA pins have been facing challenges filling their returns. Some of them pay cyber guys to assist them. However, they can do it within two minutes. If you have KRA pin you must file your return. These are what you need to do to file your ‘KRA NIL return' within two minutes.

Go to the ITAX KRA website .  Enter your KRA PIN NUMBER (11 digits), followed by your password in their correct sections and then solve security calculation correctly. If you are done, click OK. If you forgot your password, click forgot the password and you will be directed how to set up a new password.

After you have logged in, you will be directed to this page. Click on the ‘Return’ icon bar as shown.

A page will pop-up, on this page, clicks on the return of the red bar and then chooses ‘File NIL return’.  This will direct you to the next stage. At this stage fill in relevant required information, for instance, fill ‘Tax Obligation’. You should choose one among the three options provided, for instance, ‘Income Tax-Resident Individual’. Click next to move you to the next step.

In this step, fill the relevant information, for example, you should fill ‘Wife Pin’ if only you are returning for your wife. If not you should leave it blank. After entering the needed information, click ‘Submit’.  A page will pop-up, click OK, another page will pop-up informing you that you have successfully filled your NIL return. Finally, you can print your e-Return Acknowledgement Receipt by clicking on print e-return. It will allow you to save on your laptop or computer which you can print later from your computer.
